COUNTRY POND FISH AND GAME CLUB'S
CIVILIAN MARKSMANSHIP PROGRAM (CMP)
Greetings, all high powered rifle shooters!
Spring is getting nearer and the 2007 CMP season starts this March with the first high power shoot scheduled for Saturday,
March 24th. Anyone interested in participating should show up at the outdoor range at about 9:15 AM to help set up for the
shoot.
We begin at 9:30 and go until about 12 noon.
All shooters who participate will get a high power rifle patch and will begin working on Marksmanship Qualification Awards.
Further information will be published in the next newsletter.
Hope to see you there!!
If you have any question, please contact The CPF&G CMP Committee
THE CIVILIAN MARKSMANSHIP PROGRAM (CMP)
Members will be able to purchase M1 Garands and other firearms from the CMP at reduced prices once they have demonstrated a
qualifying score with a high-powered rifle.
2003 CMP SHOOT
The weather on the 18th of November was cold but clear and sunny for the last CMP shoot of 2003. Five shooters arrived to move
tables and get the target holders ready. Since CPF&G became affiliated with the Civilian Marksmanship Program this past August,
seventeen shooters have qualified to mail off to the folks at CMP the application for purchasing an M1 Garand! This first year
we relied upon several club members to bring along rifles for anyone who did not have a rifle to use. I would like to offer my
thanks and appreciation for their kind assistance. I would also like to thank the Board of Directors for taking the chance with
the CMP group and giving us a working budget to purchase ammo and targets. I also would like to send a special thanks to Earl
for hunting out the suppliers for targets and ammo at an affordable price.
The CMP group is planning to start up again in the spring for the 2004 season. We would like to offer other types of shoots, such as military bolt action rifle, any military rifle, AR15 shoots. How about a muzzleloader shoot?! Please keep a watch out for the first meeting date of the CMP Committee sometime in March. Anyone interested in helping out in planning and setting up these events would be most welcome!
Thanks again to all the people who have helped out to make the first year a success.
